What To Expect
Therapy – Will it be helpful?
It can be frightening to start the process of therapy. Most people feel a little nervous at the beginning and want to know what to expect from therapy. The research shows that across all therapists and their different ways of working, the most important factor in the success of therapy is the quality of the relationship. Since the primary instrument of this work is the relationship between two people, much of the success of the process depends of the quality of the connection. In order for my training to be of assistance to you we have to first establish a comfortable connection.
For this reason, I encourage most people to speak with me in person or by telephone before their first appointment in a 20-minute free consult. In that consult, I can hear about what you are looking for, share with you information about how I work, and give you a chance to “feel” whether you would like to get started.
